Three kids in four years. Cayley always knew she’d want a mommy makeover once she was done having children. She lives in Arizona, right next to Scottsdale, a well-known plastic surgery hub. So she started looking at local surgeons. The estimate came to around $40,000.
So she did what a lot of people do now. She searched for the world’s plastic surgery capitals, and three names kept coming up… Mexico, Colombia, and Turkey. Mexico was closer. But she wanted to see Turkey. The first office she contacted, Dr. Safa Manav’s in Istanbul, felt right from the first WhatsApp messages. She sent photos to the patient coordinator and asked about a mommy makeover. The price that came back felt almost surreal. She put down a deposit in February and flew out in May, with her mother along for support. Surgery came on day three: a full tummy tuck with some muscle repair, liposuction on her sides, and a breast lift with implants. After two nights in the hospital, she moved to a partner medical hotel for the rest of her 10-night stay. A nurse could come by to check on her, but after two days she decided she didn’t need it. The first couple of days were rough. But recovering far from three small children turned out to be a gift. Once she felt up to it, she and her mom explored Istanbul together. Now look at the receipt.
Source: Cayley’s own breakdown to People. Her package used 2024 pricing, and she says prices have since risen slightly. The “everything else” line is the difference between her stated total and the first two items.
In other words, a 10-day trip to Istanbul, with surgery, a hotel, and her mom along, cost about a third of the surgery alone at home. How did she pay for it? She didn’t say. But $14,000 spread over five years is about $235 a month before interest. For context, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons says a mommy makeover can cost at least $20,000 at home… and that’s the floor. She documented the whole recovery for her nearly 300,000 TikTok followers. She even held off on showing her belly button for a while, because it looked strange as it healed. Today she has healed with no setbacks, and she’s back in a bikini. Not everyone cheered. Some commenters on her TikTok attacked her for going abroad, and she ended up filtering her comments. Her answer: complications happen in the US too. She’s right about that… which is exactly why the homework matters. Check your surgeon’s board certification, read the recovery plan before you pay, and don’t fly home until you’re cleared. Then go enjoy the city. |
